Italian 47mm Anti-Tank Gun
This is the Italian dual purpose Anti-Tank and Infantry Support gun. The gun is cast as a single White Metal piece, the barrel , with the textured resin base also having the trail and wheels.
This dual purpose gun unlike most of its contemporaries such as the PAK 36 and Bofors 37mm continued to be successful throughout the war even in the anti-tank role especially when equipped with a HEAT round.
The gun was originally designed by the Austrian firm Bohler. In the 1930s the Italians bought some of these and then began to produce the weapon under licence. The same weapon was also used by the Austrian, Romanian, Soviet, and Dutch armies. It was also used as the main armament in the Italian M13/40 and M14/41 medium tanks.
